Chilean duo of symphonic power metal with modern touches. Formed by singer and songwriter Victoria Parodi and musician and composer Nick Abarca.
Their story is curious, like a great 80's rock tale. IOV started creating and recording their first EP in 2018. With this EP they won the music fund, a prestigious award given by the Chilean Ministry of Culture, with which they were able to record their 1st studio album abroad in 2019. Where? At the famous Chameleon Studios in Hamburg, Germany, with producer Eike O. Freese (Deep Purple, Alice Cooper, Kai Hansen, Gamma Ray, etc). The album, entitled "Countdown", featured Michael Ehré on drums (Gamma Ray, Primal Fear, The Unity), Corvin Bahn on orchestration support (Uli Jon Roth, Sascha Paeth's Masters of Ceremony), and Eike Freese on backing vocals on some songs. Released on December 22, 2022, "Countdown" achieved over 60,000 plays on Spotify in only 4 weeks, being mentioned and played on radios in Spain, Sweden, Finland, Mexico, France, Chile, USA, Brazil, Switzerland, Argentina, Italy, Netherlands, Colombia and many more.
For the mastering of the album, Imperium of Vanity received the support of one of the founders of Wacken Open Air, the most important metal festival in the world, which marks an important achievement for national and Latin American rock and metal band, recognizing for the first time a metal music project led by a woman. With a great studio album, lyric video, videoclip and a recently released live video, Imperium of Vanity brings you the best riffs with a powerful and transcendental message, which addresses issues such as respect for women, the fight against the vanity of the world, self-improvement and a message of non-violence.
In Imperium of Vanity we make a difference in metal, seeking to contribute to the world from a powerful sound and sense to all people.
